Headline Enhancements

ID Salesforce Description
TRANS-1082, 1089, 1091, 1092, 1171, 1101, 1280 - Transtream branded installer and setup with revised licensing, support for staging, and 'Check for Updates' capability. Also branded versions of all Apps. A new and renamed version of Instance Manager is available from the Downloads page (version 3.0.0.0). The installation file is now called Transtream Installation.msi, and installs Transtream Setup. This supercedes Instance Manager. In existing installations, you must uninstall Instance Manager before running the new installer (you get a warning if you haven't).

Transtream Setup includes a number of changes over its predecessor:

  • Licensing is now by token on request. When instance details are checked, you are prompted to request a license. Prior to this release, you had to manually enter a license that you had previously acquired. Now you make the request as part of the install. See Install Transtream for details.
    • As part of this work, a Refresh License command has been added to each instance's right-click menu. See Refresh an instance license.
Existing instance licenses remain valid. You do not need to relicense already installed and licensed instances.
  • Staging is now supported. You have:
    • Staging feeds for pre production access to versions and carrier components in Transtream Setup. Staging must be enabled for an instance through Transtream Setup's Settings (the File menu), and is password-controlled.
    • A staging feed for Apps that can be added on the Feeds tab in Transtream Admin.

    See Staging for details.

  • Transtream Setup includes a Check for Updates command on its Help menu. Once you have downloaded and installed Transtream Setup 3.0.0.0, you can update it without further manual download. Changes to Transtream Setup will be release noted.

The installation and configuration documentation has been updated to reflect these changes. Links are included above.

Transtream branded versions of all Apps are included in this release.

Note that Transtream branded software is only available on version 8.10.0 and later. If you use the new installer to install an earlier version, or if you use an earlier version of an App, they will not include Transtream branding.

Other Changes

ID Salesforce Description
TRANS-1239 - SAML authentication. Single Logout (SLO) now optional. In SAML configuration, only the IdP and SP certificates, and the SAML login URI (SSO) settings are manadatory. All other settings are now optional. In addition:
  • Error messaging and diagnostic logging has been improved to help identify certificate errors.
  • Identify Providers can now pass a user email instead of a username. To work, the IdP must also set the emailAddress name identifier format within the assertion.

See SAML for details on this authentication mode.

To support Transtream branding, new versions of all Apps are available. See Upgrade Apps and Snippets for general advice.
