Upgrade Apps and Snippets

  1. Log into the instance. This opens the Product Admin screens.
  2. On the Apps tab, click DOWNLOAD APP, and select the Apps or snippets you want.

  • Apps:
    • You upgrade an existing App by downloading a new version of the App. This does not update your existing App versions. If you have added scripting or additional controls to an App, you will have to replicate those changes in the new version.
    • What is available for download is determined by the feeds available to you. See Use Product Admin for details on the Apps and Feeds tabs.
    • When viewing the available App versions to download, the most recent version will be selected in the version number dropdown. It is highly recommended to use new App versions as the are made available. See Production Versions for the latest system and App releases.
  • Snippets:
    • If you upgrade an instance to a newer version of Transtream that includes new or changed snippets, your existing Apps will use the newer snippets, and the new snippets will be available to developers. Support for existing snippet functionality is preserved.
    • If a snippet is deprecated, it continues to work in existing Apps even when the App's instance is upgraded. Deprecated snippets are no longer available in Designer's Snippets box. Typically, deprecated snippets are replaced with improved alternatives that preserve existing behavior while offering new features. However, deprecating a snippet does not require you to make changes. It is just something to be aware of when developing or modifying Apps in the future.
    • The Snippets tab available from DOWNLOAD APP may be empty. Most snippet changes are obtained through upgrading the instance's Transtream version.

    • Version changes to Apps and major snippet changes are announced in the Transtream Release Notes available from the site's Home page (click the logo (top left)) or through search.
