Designer

Designer is the development platform for Transtream Apps. It has everything you need to create your own Apps, or to modify downloaded or imported Apps.

Designer is a browser based development environment. You see the App source and how all its controls and scripting combine. You can modify existing Apps, or create new Apps. Everything you need is at hand:

• Tools give you your basic controls, such as buttons, labels and dropdowns.
• Snippets give you shipping functionality, such as Rate Viewer and Carrier Service.
• Page Navigator helps you manage and select everything that makes up an App.
• Data Sources let you to configure and connect to the external data. Designer also integrates with Logistics Server giving you access to all possible XML Requests, such as Ship requests, and with HubCapp to provide access to local or remote scales, printers and data sources.
• Apps can be simple or complex. Everything has a default appearance and behavior, but Designer includes a Scripting area (JavaScript) and a CSS Editor giving you complete control, should you need it.
• A Runtime option, lets you test as you develop.

Supported Browsers, Licensing and Admin users

Designer supports Chrome, Firefox and Microsoft Internet Explorer 11 on both Windows and Mac platforms. It is licensed per Transtream instance, and you need the Role of Admin to open Apps in Designer. See Administration App - Users for details on creating users.
