Transtream requirements

This is a detailed list of all possible requirements for the installation of Transtream and HubCapp instances on a server using Transtream Setup. It is a combination of supported platforms, software that needs to be installed, information you need to supply, and decisions you need to make. Server When Required?

.NET 4.7.2.

Windows 11 and Windows Server 2019 & 2022 include .NET 4.7.2 as standard. These are the supported platforms. If you want to use another Windows platform, it must include support for .NET 4.7.2.

.NET Core hosting bundle 2.2.8. Always
Windows PowerShell 5.1 or later. To check the installed version, run PowerShell and enter $PSVersionTable.PSVersion at the PowerShell command prompt. PowerShell’s execution policy must be unrestricted. Use the command: Set-ExecutionPolicy unrestricted. Always
Details of the Pierbridge identity provider (IdP).

For users operating with Transtream Setup version 3.33.0 and below, note the following. If installing the IdP on a seperate machine, or on load balanced servers, ensure the Deployment Credentials are exported. You will be required to enter the credentials when installing the product. Additionally, if operating with the IdP installed on load balanced servers, a Redis installation is required.

Always
Windows Internet Information Services (IIS). Even if this is supplied with your Windows OS, you may have to enable it in Windows Features. If not enabled, Transtream Setup will tell you when you attempt Install > Run Now. IIS must have .NET 4.7.2. enabled (Windows Features > Internet Information Services > World Wide Web Services > Application Development Features > .NET 4.7.2.)

Any custom settings configured in IIS are lost during Transtream upgrade, and will need to be re-applied.

Always

Forms Authentication is the default means of authenticating Transtream users and does not require you to do anything before installation. SAML 2.0 is also supported for App runtime URLs. Product Admin includes a SAML tab where you can configure required detail.

Credentials When Required?
Pierbridge Cloud credentials. When it is first run on a machine, Transtream Setup will prompt for these credentials. Your vendor will have supplied you with these credentials. First install
You will need a valid license token for each Transtream instance being installed. Your vendor will have supplied you with tokens. Instance install
Other When Required?
Binding Host Name. As part of the installation, you need to supply a Binding Host Name. This is the URL that your users will use. It uniquely identifies each instance and is used by IIS to create sites. It must be unique for each instance. The Binding Host Name setting cannot be changed post install (you'd have to create a new instance). Always
Microsoft SQL Server® 2008 and above. The name and credentials for the SQL Server instance you want to use. Transtream Setup will create the required database within this instance, but the instance must exist, and you must supply credentials with create level permissions. Always*
Proxy. If you need to install through a proxy server, you will need the URL, port number, username and password for that proxy. Depends on site*
Browsers. Chrome, Edge, and Firefox. Safari on MacOS. Always
* Not required by HubCapp.
