Carrier Permissions
Carrier permissions can be assigned to users and to profiles (from where users inherit them). Carrier permissions:
- Grant permission to use that carrier by providing the credentials and accounts used. Typically, the account number, security credentials and
shipping key detail required here will have been gathered
during onboarding by Setup My System, or entered manually on the Accounts tab on the
Carriers page.
- Stipulate what functions a user with this permission can perform. For example, All Functions,
or Track only.
- If required, associate international or consolidated defaults. These sets of defaults will have been configured on the
corresponding tabs on the Carriers page.
Collectively, carrier permissions define and control how users interact with carriers. You can create
any number of carrier permissions, and reuse them, as required. You can also designate one carrier permission
as the default.
To help you manage permissions, when you create them, you define who they are available to (the
Make available to setting). This can be all shipping users, specific users, or specific profiles.
To add a carrier permission:
- In the Administration App, on the Carriers page, click the Carrier Permissions tab.
- Click + ADD CARRIER PERMISSION.
- Select the Carrier. This sets what is mandatory. It varies by carrier.
- Complete the required detail.
- On the Permissions tab, specify who can use this permission, and then click
SAVE & CLOSE.
